Information Technology Support Administrator
Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role for an Information Technology Support Administrator at rimpido GmbH, based in Lower Saxony, Germany. The IT Support Administrator will be responsible for providing technical support, resolving IT-related issues, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software systems, and managing network and system administration tasks. Additionally, the role includes ensuring that IT systems operate effectively to meet business needs and requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Administration, maintenance, and further development of our IT infrastructure
- Operation and support of UNIX/Linux and Windows systems
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and services
- Management of user and access rights (e.g., via LDAP)
- Support and further development of open-source and freeware solutions
- Support for users with IT questions (2nd-level support)
- Ensuring IT security, availability, and data backup
- Documentation of systems, processes, and configurations
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support processes to resolve hardware, software, and user challenges efficiently.
- Experience in Information Technology management, including the evaluation and deployment of IT solutions.
Master Level Qualification
- Completed IT training or comparable qualification
- Practical experience in system administration of UNIX/Linux and Windows environments
- Good knowledge of freeware and open-source software
- Expert handling of common server and network services
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented work style
- At least a German Native speaker or a B2 German Language Certificate
- For Non-EU citizens, must have a German working permit.
Desirable additional skills
- Experience with OwnCloud or comparable file and Collaboration systems
- Knowledge of BookStack or similar documentation tools
- Advanced Linux knowledge (e.g., Debian, SUSE, NixOS)
- Experience with LDAP/directory services
- Basic knowledge of IT security, backup, and monitoring solutions
- Strong knowledge of Network Administration, ensuring optimal network performance, maintenance, and security.
- Competence in System Administration for maintaining servers, user permissions, and system upgrades.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills to assist end-users and ensure seamless IT operations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an on-site environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco) are a plus.
